Calling from dark,
Forgotten corners of my mind
Where light seeps out
And shadows enter.
Not her as she was,
But instead
How I remember
All the pain
She left behind,
And I embrace it.
If only to recall
Why she is no longer —
Nor can ever again
Be mine.
