Alone by choice
Bracing for the fate that chose me
-
Waving at the blind
Like a silent witness to our struggle, waving at the blind to follow
-
Illusions of equality
Unaware the chains we wear
-
Tapestry of sorrow
LIfe unraveled, rewoven
-
The canopy
As years accumulate, so do memories
-
Black on gray
Blessedly darkness falls, ending my pain
-
Transcend
Virtue may please the Father, only passion soothes the soul
-
Desperate and hungry
Self-tethered to the rotten carcass once dubbed liberty
-
Not today
A den of corruption, deprevaty and sin
-
Fates unlived
Stacks of fates unlived
-
Dandelions
I marvel at their careless dance
-
Why can’t I
Life moved on, why can’t I
-
Unquestioned compliance
Unseeing where the river flows, deaf to how it rages
-
So good to see you
A smile, radiant with unfelt joy
-
Scratch again
Relief in naught but pain
-
Strands of truth
Let go and boldly venture forth
-
Desperate cry
Sharp eyes, sharper beaks raised to the sky answer Death’s calling
-
Shadow objective
Rigged mortal combat decimates line after line of innocents
-
I wrote on
My words carry a rhythm all their own
-
Abandoned shards
Dream fragments paving the gravel road that scars your soul
-
Unclaimed fields
Where hearts filled with fledgling wonder rise above the blue
-
All-time low
Waiting for the next blow to land
-
Vow, fulfilled
A happy ending — for all but me.
-
This too shall pass
Trapped riding out the shockwave’s forward momentum
-
A damned good man
At best a sinning saint, at worst a damned good man
-
The power of self
I don’t need a book of rules to be
-
For those who still dream
Leaving trace, nor memory
-
Fire dancing
Come heal me, caress me, consume me
-
Let go
With relief I feel myself let go
-
Measure of control
Either way, you will speak out no more
-
Exit
Oh, if I could only tell you
-
I feared
I thought I cared
-
The bottom line
An entire species valued exclusively at net-worth ratings
-
Station in life
Are you killer or prey? You decide, will you eat or be eaten
-
True friends
point out painful truths, never fearing a backlash
