The dagger buried deep
Long gone,
Her dark, damaged heart —
Long since thawed,
Still not beating,
Still unfeeling.
Robbed of even tears,
In silent protest —
Embracing the lack of pain,
The loss of humanity,
It never stopped bleeding.
