Lower Tiers

Devolved to the lower tiers
Of Maslow’s cautionary tale,
Some needs run deep,
But flesh is shallow.
Daily life, reduced
To feed, to breed,
To own a set of walls,
Survival needs designed
To keep us from the higher levels.

All life is shallow.
Shake the system all you like,
But pyramids don’t topple.
